Man, 21, shot trying to help woman who was being attacked in Lawndale
CHICAGO - A man was shot while trying to stop a woman from being attacked Wednesday morning in the Lawndale neighborhood on Chicago's West Side.
The 21-year-old attempted to help a woman who was being beaten up just after midnight in the 1300 block of South Lawndale Avenue, police said. The suspect then pulled out a gun and shot the man before fleeing the scene.
The victim was grazed in the neck by a bullet. He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in good condition.
No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
