Lightfoot, city leaders celebrate completion of CTA bypass project
CHICAGO - It was a big step forward for the North Belmont "Red-Purple Reconstruction Project."
On Monday, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and other leaders celebrated the completion of the new bypass.
A 100-year-old track structure is also being replaced.
Eventually, the completed project will allow more trains to flow through the area, reducing overcrowding and delays.
