The Lincoln Park Zoo is ready to hear the lions roar again. On Friday, the zoo gave a hard hat tour of the new state of the art exhibit.

The Lincoln Park Zoo is ready to hear the lions roar again.

The zoo's brand new renovated lion habitat is getting ready for a new pride and zoo officials gave a hard hat tour of the new state of the art exhibit on Friday.

Zoo leaders said they focused on creating a space where the lions will have a lot of choices and places to explore.

"We used science and collected data on lions before they left Lincoln Park Zoo to understand what they preferred and what options in the habitat they really wanted to utilize, so you'll see a lot of shade structures and shelter structures, you'll see climbing trees here," said a Lincoln Park Zoo spokesperson.

The Lincoln Park Zoo lions left the zoo in 2019 for the construction project.

There’s no word yet on when it will be completed.
