Little girl's wish to swim with the mermaids granted

WEEKI WACHEE, Fla. (FOX 13) - A six-year-old little girl had her dream come true: To swim with the Weeki Wachee Mermaids. 

Little Beatrix and her family flew from Ohio to Florida to get her wish granted with the help of the Make A Wish Foundation and the mermaids of Weeki Wachee Springs. 

Beatrix was diagnosed with a rare, life-threatening disease, Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, but on Tuesday, all you could see was her smile. 

She was excited to put on her tail, her favorite part about being a mermaid, and swim with mermaids Paisley and Julia. 

Afterward, the mermaids even gave her a present, her own Weeki Wachee Mermaid, to take home with her.
