Macys is opening dozens of new stores, but they wont be the huge department stores youve seen in the past.

CHICAGO - Macy's is opening dozens of new stores, but they won't be the huge department stores you've seen in the past.

Macy's says over the next couple of years, it will open as many as 30 small-format stores.

The move comes after testing the concept in Chicago.

In a statement, the company said the small-format stores will be about one-fifth the size of regular stores.
