2 shot, more than 100 arrested and 13 officers hurt during downtown Chicago looting

CPD Supt. David Brown says two people were shot, police made more than 100 arrests and 13 officers were injured during looting and civil unrest early Monday in downtown Chicago.

A 30-year-old man is facing felony charges in connection to downtown looting in August.

Gerone Tate allegedly stole items from a business Aug. 9 in the 500 block of North Michigan Avenue, Chicago police said.

He arrested Wednesday morning in Little Village on the Southwest Side, police said.

Tate was due back in court Thursday on charges of burglary and looting.
