CHICAGO (STMW) - An 18-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman during an encounter he set up Sunday on the website Backpage.com.
Cortrell Grant responded to the 23-year-old woman’s advertisement on the adult classifieds site and they arranged to meet in the 6300 block of South May, Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Lesley Gool said in court Tuesday.
They had agreed via text to an hour of intercourse and oral sex for $150, but when she drove there, Grant led her to a detached garage, where another man put a gun in her mouth, Gool said.
Both men sexually assaulted her repeatedly and the other man—who has not yet been charged—took her cell phone and keys, prosecutors allege.
Grant continued having sex with the woman while the other man went to ransack her car, but Grant stopped and ran when he heard a noise, prosecutors said.
The woman escaped once he was gone and flagged down police, who had been called to the block by someone in the house in front of the garage after seeing the second man rummaging through the car, prosecutors said. She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital.
Officers saw Grant toss the woman’s cellphone as he ran away, and when they arrested him about a block away, his penis was still showing through his zipper with a condom on, prosecutors said.
The woman later identified him in a lineup, prosecutors said.
Judge James Brown ordered Grant held on a $250,000 bond. He is due back in court Feb. 1.
