Man killed in crash on Bishop Ford

A man was killed in a crash that shut down the Bishop Ford Freeway near South Holland for more than five hours during Tuesday’s morning commute.

Randall A. Moore, 41, was driving a black 2006 Dodge sedan about 3:50 a.m. on northbound I-94 near Sibley Boulevard when the car rear-ended a slow-moving   Freightliner semi, according to Illinois State Police.

Moore, who lived in Chicago, was dead at the scene, state police said. No other injuries were reported.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.

All inbound lanes were closed for the crash and traffic was diverted at 159th Street while authorities investigated, according to state police and the Illinois Department of Transportation. All lanes were reopened at 9:30 a.m.
