Man killed in Washington Heights shooting, police say

CHICAGO - A 43-year-old man was gunned down Friday night on Chicago's South Side.

Around 6:30 p.m., police say the male victim was in an alley in the 10200 block of S. Carpenter when he was struck in the head and chest by gunfire.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Nobody was reported in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
