SAN LEANDRO, Ca. - We understand not everyone likes Halloween but recently a man seemingly made his views on the holiday known as he lit the costume and candy aisle of a San Leandro, California Walmart on fire this past Wednesday.
Authorities said a man was seen squirting lighter fluid on the costumes and candy shortly before 2 p.m. and then a lot of smoke filled the store immediately afterwards.
Employees quickly responded with fire extinguishers and detained a 40 year old Oakland man. Investigators later arrested him and charged him with suspicion of arson.
One man, Paul Miller, caught the fire on camera and even helped employees tackle flaming candy before being told to get to safety. He later posted photos of fire fighters hosing down the last of charred merchandise and tweeted:
