SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - Police are searching for a man who shot his girlfriend early Thursday in south suburban Country Club Hills.
Officers responded about 4 a.m. to a call of shots fired in the 1100 block of Williamsburg Road and found the woman suffering from several gunshot wounds, according to a statement from Country Club Hills police.
She was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she underwent surgery, but her condition was not immediately known Thursday afternoon, police said.
Police said a person of interest, a 34-year-old man who left the area in a red 2011 Ford Taurus with an Illinois license plate Z558610, is “actively being sought” by detectives, police said.
The suspect, who may be with an 8-year-old boy, also has access to another vehicle, a white four-door Buick with Illinois plate Y754993.
