Metra train fatally strikes man in Buffalo Grove

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. - A man was struck and killed by a Metra train Monday morning in Buffalo Grove.

The 26-year-old man was struck near the Prairie View Metra Station, 2701 Main Street, around 7:40 a.m., according to village officials. The man has not yet been identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Metra police have launched an investigation.

The tracks have since been reopened at reduced speeds.
