2 hurt after Metra UP-NW train strikes taxi in Mount Prospect

Two people inside a taxi suffered minor injuries after a Metra UP-NW train struck their vehicle in northwest suburban Mount Prospect.

The collision occurred about 5:30 a.m. Friday at Mount Prospect Road, according to a Metra spokesman Michael Gillis.

Two passengers in the cab had minor injuries, Gillis said. One person went to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, while the other went to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, he said.

UP-NW trains resumed moving at 7:20 a.m. with extensive delays, the transit agency said in an alert.
