New flag policy in effect for McHenry County

There is a new policy in McHenry County when it comes to flying flags over government facilities.

McHENRY COUNTY, Ill. - There is a new policy in McHenry County when it comes to flying flags over government facilities.

The flying of non-governmental flags will now require the support of two-thirds of the county board.

The policy was created last week.

The debate stems from two years ago when supporters wanted to fly the Pride flag during Pride Month in June.
