Teen chaos in Cicero: Big police response after boy is shot, huge crowd jumps on cars
Witnesses tell FOX 32 that several teenagers were seen jumping on cars in the parking lot, and randomly attacking bystanders. "They were destroying property, pushing over old people, trying to get into local businesses," a witness said. Nate Rodgers reports.
CICERO - One person was shot amidst a large gathering of young people in Cicero on Sunday night.
FOX 32 Chicago received a tip that about two hundred young people had gathered outside the AMC theater in Cicero, 4779 West Cermak Road., around 6:30 p.m. Over the summer, large teen gatherings have become known as "teen trends."

"They were destroying property, pushing over old people, trying to get into local businesses," a witness said.
It was a chaotic scene indeed with more than 50 cop cars from multiple law enforcement agencies coming to the Hawthorne Works shopping center to disperse the large group. Cicero authorities said hundreds of teenagers had flocked to the area for a flash mob. Police say the incident began with more than 250 teenagers inside AMC theater. They were taking advantage of a $4 dollar movie special.
"They were at capacity, then obviously when the crowd was asked to leave, that’s when the disturbance started," said Cicero Police Superintendent Thomas Boyle.
Police say eventually gun shots were fired in a nearby Aldi parking lot. One teen was shot in the leg.
One witnesses said "kids were jumping out of cars and kids running everywhere."
