Person critically hurt in South Loop shooting
CHICAGO - A person was critically hurt in a shooting Thursday in the South Loop, less than a block away from a Chicago police station.
Paramedics responded to a call of a person with a gunshot wound about 12:20 p.m. in the 1900 block of South State Street, according preliminary information from Chicago police.
The person was transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The shooting happened on the east side of State Street, near several condos, a hair salon and a medical center.
Chicago police’s 1st District is a half block north of the shooting.
Minutes earlier, another person was shot in Chicago Lawn on the Southwest Side.
