Person killed in wrong-way crash on Bishop Ford

One person is dead after driving the wrong way on the Bishop Ford Freeway Tuesday night. The driver struck two other cars and was pronounced dead on scene.

A man is dead after driving the wrong way on Interstate 94, causing a three-vehicle crash Tuesday night.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on southbound I-94 at Interstate 80 in Cook County, according to Illinois State Police.

For unknown reasons, police say a 67-year-old man was driving a Toyota Rav4 the wrong way on I-94 and struck a truck tractor head on. The Rav4 then struck a Chevy Cruze.

The driver of the Rav4 was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Leoist Jenkins of Sauk Village.

No other injuries were reported.

The I-94 southbound ramp to I-80 eastbound remained closed for several hours after the crash.
