Pink plow to clear the streets of Romeoville next winter in support of breast cancer awareness
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - A pink snowplow will be clearing the streets of Romeoville during the winter of 2022 in support of breast cancer awareness.
The Village of Romeoville said many employees and residents have been affected by cancer, and the idea of the plow is to show support and solidarity with everyone who is touched by the disease.
"This is something our team wanted to do to show our support for those affected by this disease," said Mayor John Noak. "The truck will be used as part of plowing operations during the winter and in parades, touch a truck events and as a dump truck in other seasons. In short, this will be a full duty part of the fleet."

The Village Board approved the purchase of the truck this week.
The manufacturers have chipped in to donate to the project given the special meaning of the new truck.
JX Peterbilt will provide extra warranties and special polished tanks and equipment, and Monroe Truck will donate the pink powder coating paint for the plow.
The anticipated date for the truck to be delivered is in the summer of 2022.
