Police seek suspect in Villa Park trail attack

VILLA PARK, Ill. (STMW) - Police in Villa Park are looking for a man who attacked someone walking along a trail Wednesday morning in the northwest suburb.

The victim was walking alone on the Great Western Trail between Harvard Avenue and Westmore Road about 7:40 a.m., when a man walked up and hit the victim from behind, according to a statement from Villa Park police.

The victim suffered “minor injuries” and no items were taken in the attack, police said.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-8 white man between 21 and 25 years old with blonde hair, police said. He was wearing a black hoodie.
