Police warn of armed robberies near bus stop in South Shore

SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - Police are warning residents of two armed robberies that occurred in the past three weeks in the South Shore neighborhood.

The victims were robbed at gunpoint by two to three males just after getting off a CTA bus or while waiting at a bus stop.

The robberies happened about 5:01 a.m. Aug. 30 in the 7700 block of South Shore Drive; and about 12:52 a.m. Sept. 4 in the 3100 block of East 79th Street.

The suspects are described as two to three black males, believed to be between 19 and 23. One suspect is described as about 6-foot-1, 160-170 pounds, with a light complexion and black hair styled in a mohawk. The other two offenders are both about 5-foot-8, one with short hair and the other with dreadlocks.
