Alderperson bill signed into law by Gov. Pritzker

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a law this week that changes the title of "alderman" and "aldermen" to "alderperson" and "alderpersons."

Chicago aldermen are a thing of the past.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a law this week that changes the title of "alderman" and "aldermen" to "alderperson" and "alderpersons."

It's part of a bill to make the position more inclusive. 

The bill also moved the state's primary from March 15 to June 28.
