CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A semi driver was cited after running a red light, then crashing into a car and house Saturday afternoon in Englewood, leaving two people injured.
The semi truck was westbound on 59th Street about 12:15 p.m. when it ran a red light at Union, according to Chicago Police.
It then struck a car before crashing into a house in the 700 block of West 59th, according to police and Fire Media Affairs.
Two occupants of the car refused medical transport at the scene and told paramedics they would take themselves to a hospital, according to Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford. They were in good condition.
The semi driver, a 24-year-old Hickory Hills man, was not hurt, authorities said. He was issued a citation for failure to obey a stoplight.
