A shooting in downtown Chicago on Tuesday left a man critically hurt and led to train delays near the Clark and Lake station.

The 45-year-old victim was on CTA property in the 200 block of North La Salle Street around 9:41 a.m. when a known male offender fired shots in the victim's direction, Chicago police said.

The victim had three gunshot wounds to his body and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported.

The offender fled on foot and was not in custody as of midday Tuesday.

CTA trains on the Brown and Green lines were bypassing the Clark/Lake stop during the late morning due to police activity around 10 a.m.

By a little after noon, trains resumed making stops at the Clark/Lake station.
