Shots fired at Chicago police prompts SWAT response
Chicago police said SWAT was called Friday after a man shot at officers, striking a squad car several times on the city's West Side.
CHICAGO - A SWAT response unfolded Friday after multiple shots were fired at police, striking a squad car several times in East Garfield Park.
Police said a man fired multiple rounds at officers, before fleeing into a building in the 3200 block of West Fulton.
Several streets were shut down and residents were asked to avoid the area.

One officer was transported to a nearby hospital for observation, police said.

After several hours, police said the scene was being cleared and no one was in custody.
