South Chicago drive-by shooting leaves man dead: police

CHICAGO - A man was killed in a drive-by shooting in South Chicago on Monday morning. 

Police say a 27-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 8200 block of S. South Shore Drive at 1:20 a.m. when a vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots at the victim. 

He was shot in the chest and pronounced dead on the scene. 

There is no one in custody. Area detectives are investigating.
