South Loop shooting leaves man seriously wounded
CHICAGO - A man was shot and critically wounded Friday morning in the South Loop neighborhood.
The 57-year-old man was outside in the 2100 block of South State Street around 10:49 a.m. when a male offender fired shots then fled the scene.
The victim and offender were previously involved in a verbal altercation on Thursday.

The victim had gunshot wounds in the thigh and lower leg and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
There is no one in custody as Area Three detectives investigate.
