South Shore shooting leaves man seriously injured

CHICAGO - A man was hospitalized in serious condition following a shooting in South Shore Thursday morning. 

The victim, 43, was walking near 67th Street and South Cornell Avenue just after 9 a.m. when he heard gunshots. 

Police say he was struck in the back and transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.

No arrests have been reported as detectives continue to investigate.
