AURORA, Ill. - State Rep. Barbara Hernandez’s 50th District office in Aurora was evacuated Monday evening after a staff member became ill upon opening a suspicious letter.
Police and fire crews responded to the scene and ordered an evacuation of the office.
Hernandez confirmed that the staff member who opened the letter is recovering and doing well.
Out of caution, the office will remain closed on Tuesday as the investigation continues.
No further details about the contents of the letter have been released.
