TAMPA (FOX 13) - Not only is the Tampa Police Department looking out for our safety, but for the safety of our four-legged friends as well.
The department posted pictures of a kitten rescue to their Facebook page overnight.
Two officers -- identified by TPD as Dwight Vinkemulder and Matthew Drumsta -- managed to rescue a kitten from a manhole.
Someone had called 911 after hearing the kitten’s cries for help. One of the officers physically went into the manhole to rescue the kitten.
It’s expected to be OK.
