Triple shooting in NW Indiana: 2 people killed, 1 in critical condition

Two people are dead and another person is in critical condition after a shooting at a home in Northwest Indiana.

The three men who were killed in a shooting at a home in Northwest Indiana on Friday afternoon have been identified.

The shooting happened just before 2 p.m. at a home in the 600 block of Colfax Street, in unincorporated Griffith

Lake County deputies say they found three men with gunshot wounds and two of them were deceased. A third man had critical injuries.

The third man was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

The deceased men were identified by the Lake County Coroner's Office the following day. Marshall Lawson Jr., 69, of Hammond, Indiana, was pronounced dead at Methodist Northlake Hospital.

John G. Stefanich, 67, of Highland, Indiana, was pronounced dead at Munster Community Hospital.

Robert Sacviar, 63, was pronounced dead on the scene. Officials say Sacviar lived on the same block as where the shooting occurred.

No arrests have been made, but there is no safety threat to residents in the area. Deputies say this may be a murder/suicide but it's unclear at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

This is a developing story and we'll bring more updates as they become available.
