Two boys who were with relatives to honor a 2018 murder victim on Sunday afternoon in Chicago's Auburn Gresham neighborhood were shot and wounded.

Police said that someone in a car came up to the two boys and a man near 82nd and Ada around 4:30 p.m. and opened fire. The 10-year-old was shot in the ankle and calf. The 11-year-old was shot in the arm. The 27-year-old was shot in the leg and arm. All the victims are described as being hospitalized in good condition.

Family members told us they were there to remember Kenshaw Youngblood, 34, who was killed in July 2018.

"He was well liked," said his mother, Juanita Youngblood. "This is my family. I'm tired of this here. I was on my way here talking to my sister on the phone and all I heard was screaming."

Pastor Donovan Price came to console the family.

"Is COVID the thing that's gonna kill our children or are each other the thing that's gonna kill our children? Which pandemic is worse?" Price said.

"They're my little cousins, yes, so you just got to pray," said Kennetha Conner.

As Fox 32 News crews watched, police took a man into custody near Sunday's scene, but no charges have been filed. Meanwhile, relatives said that the murder of Kenshaw Youngblood remains unsolved.
