SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE - Police are searching for two people believed to be connected to a fatal shooting of a south suburban man early Saturday in northwest Indiana.
Officers were called at 12:07 a.m. for reports of a gunshot victim in the 5400 block of West 25th Avenue, according to a statement from Gary police. They arrived to find a man inside a business with a gunshot wound.
Marcel Harris, 29, showed “no signs of life” when officers arrived, and he was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:55 a.m., according to police and the Lake County coroner’s office. He was a resident of Sauk Village.
An autopsy found he died of a gunshot wound and his death was ruled a homicide, the coroner’s office said.
Authorities have released photos of two people who may be connected to the shooting. The male and female suspects were last seen heading west on I-80/94 in a black SUV.
