VP Kamala Harris returns to Chicago for gun violence conference

Vice President Kamala Harris was in Chicago on Friday, delivering a powerful address to gun violence survivors and volunteer gun safety activists.

Her presence marked the occasion of the "Everytown for Gun Safety" annual conference, known as "Gun Sense University."

The visit was Vice President Harris' third trip to the city in less than a month. In her speech, she passionately declared that safety is indeed a civil right. She emphasized that the ongoing efforts towards gun violence prevention are aligned with the nation's core ideals.

"I do believe that when we are in the fight for America to realize her promise and to achieve the foundational principles of freedom and equality," Harris said.
