Two Waukegan Public Works employees injured in power line incident

Two Waukegan Public Works employees were hospitalized on Thursday after their truck's crane boom made contact with a power line during tree trimming.

What we know 

Waukegan fire officials responded at 11:30 a.m. to the intersection of Pershing and Greenwood Avenue, where the two workers were injured by a power line.

The workers were conducting tree trimming operations when one of their trucks, equipped with a crane boom, made contact with the power line, energizing the vehicle and injuring both men.

One worker, suffering from electrical burns, was airlifted to Loyola Medical Center, while the other was taken by ambulance to Condell Medical Center.

ComEd also responded to ensure the power lines were safe.

What we don't know

The conditions and identities of the injured workers have not been released.
