Woman, 25, shot while taking out trash in Austin

CHICAGO - A woman was shot while taking out the trash Monday in the Austin neighborhood on Chicago's West Side.

The 25-year-old was outside just after midnight when gunfire broke out and struck her in the foot in the 5000 block of West Van Buren Street, police said.

She self-transported to Rush University Medical Center where she was listed in good condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
