A crash involving a Pace bus in north suburban Zion has left several people injured, officials said Wednesday.

A crash involving a Pace bus in north suburban Zion has left six people injured, officials said Wednesday.

At about 2:37 p.m., emergency crews responded to the crash at 21st Street and Joppa Avenue, where they found the heavily damaged bus, according to a statement from Zion Fire and Rescue Department. Emergency workers immediately began treating the injured passengers, with multiple ambulances called to the scene.

Six people were transported to local hospitals, according to officials. In a statement to Fox 32, Pace said two passengers and two employees were among those injured.

"Pace’s vehicle was damaged, but I’m not sure of the extent yet," a Pace spokesperson said.

Fire departments from Gurnee, Lake Villa and Round Lake assisted Zion with covering other calls within the City of Zion during the time of the crash.
