JD Rudd

JD Rudd is the host of Chicago Live Primetime and a Meteorologist for FOX 32 Chicago, first joining the team in April 2026.

He brings more than 25 years of broadcast experience to FOX 32, with a history in radio and television. He carries a legacy American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval and is an active member of the AMS.

Throughout his career, he has covered everything from Great Plains tornado outbreaks to major Great Lakes winter storms.

JD previously served as Chief Meteorologist for Spectrum News 1 Wisconsin, a statewide 24/7 cable channel. He has also worked in several Midwest television markets, including Milwaukee, Cleveland, Kansas City and Wichita. Along the way, he has earned industry recognition for his forecasting and weather coverage while establishing himself as a trusted voice during high-impact situations.

JD now brings that same energy and curiosity beyond the forecast, highlighting the people, places and stories that make Chicago so unique as the host of CLP.

When away from the studio, JD enjoys technology, watching sports, and spending time with his lovely wife and two young kids.
