Lauren Scafidi is an Anchor and Reporter at FOX 32 Chicago, joining her hometown newsroom in March 2026.
Before returning home, Lauren spent three years at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado, where she worked as a morning anchor and general assignment reporter. During her time there, she earned an Emmy Award for her live coverage during a historic wildfire season.
Lauren began her career at 9&10 News in Traverse City, Michigan. She started as a general assignment reporter, helped launch a new lifestyle show, and later became a morning anchor. She’s been honored by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters in the categories for Best Reporter, Best Feature Story, and Best Use of New Media for her podcast, "We’re Offscript."
A Chicago suburbs native, Lauren graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, where she also served as President of the Society of Professional Journalists.
When she’s not on air, Lauren teaches hot yoga and cycling classes, and she's always working on her golf game.
