Chicago Bears keys to the game
1. Keep the momentum on your side early
U.S. Bank Stadium has a reputation for being loud. Like, really loud. The Bears have struggled with presnap penalties and the like for weeks, and allowing the crowd to become a factor is a massive detriment to the Bears' chances. They have to start strong, even though that hasn't been the team's strong suit.
2. Protect the quarterback
The Bears might make history for all the wrong reasons, having allowed 56 sacks on the season so far. Former Texans quarterback David Carr holds the record for most sacks allowed by a player in a season with 76. The Bears need to commit all the resources they can to protecting Williams.
3. Keep the Williams-Odunze connection cooking
Williams and Odunze connected for two touchdowns against San Francisco. Continuing the duo's success on the primetime stage would help open up the Bears' running game, but also take attention away from DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and Cole Kmet.
Remember when…
The Bears last won a road game on Nov. 27, 2023, when the Bears beat the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football. That, however, was last year. The Vikings started Joshua Dobbs and scored just 10 points. The Bears had Justin Fields as a starting quarterback. The Bears also intercepted Dobbs four times in the win.
