Doyle hits 6 3-pointers, Loyola of Chicago tops Toledo 69-62

CHICAGO (AP) — Milton Doyle scored 26 points, and Loyola of Chicago rallied back from a 15-point halftime deficit on Saturday to beat Toledo 69-62.

Doyle made all six of his 3-point shots, including four in the final five minutes as Loyola (3-1) took its first lead since 17:30 in the first half. His final 3 came with 1:26 left and put the Ramblers up 64-60. Doyle had nine turnovers, eight of which came in the first half.

Earl Peterson and Jeff White combined to make five of six free throws the rest of the way.

Loyola shot 59 percent from the field in the second half — including makes on eight of its last 10 shots — compared to just 34.6 percent for Toledo (2-1).

Nathan Boothe had 29 points, on 12-of-24 shooting, and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Rockets.

Toledo led by as many as 18 points.
