GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Charles Cooper scored 20 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and distributed six assists to spark Wisconsin-Green Bay to an 85-69 win over Illinois-Chicago Friday night.
The win was the fourth straight for the Phoenix, who beat the Flames for the eighth consecutive time and 12th straight time in Wisconsin.
Chicago took a brief, 36-34 lead less than two minutes into the second half after trailing by one at intermission, 32-31. The Phoenix responded with a 9-1 run, but led by just five points midway through the second half and the Flames battled back to forge a 56-56 tie with 8:21 left to play.
Carrington Love drilled a 3-pointer with 4:07 left to give Green Bay a 10-point lead, 73-63.
Love finished with 19 points and Jordan Fouse added 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Green Bay (19-11, 11-6 Horizon League).
Dikembe Dixson scored 22 points to lead Illinois-Chicago (5-23, 3-14).
