McMillan sparks Central Michigan past Northern Illinois 84-77 in 2OT

Paul McMillan IV came off the bench to score seven of his 21 points in the second overtime and Central Michigan rallied to beat Northern Illinois 84-77 on Tuesday night.

McMillan was 5-for-12 shooting, including 2 for 6 from 3-point range, and went 9 for 9 from the free-throw line for the Chippewas (12-9, 7-2 Mid-American Conference). Markus Harding added 18 points and nine rebounds. Anthony Pritchard scored 16.

Xavier Amos finished with 25 points and seven rebounds to pace the Huskies (6-14, 0-8), who have lost 10 in a row. Zarigue Nutter added 23 points and seven rebounds. David Coit scored 15.

Nutter’s layup with seven seconds left forced overtime tied at 63. Yanic Konan Niederhauser made two free throws with one second remaining to force a second extra period tied at 72.
