HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) — Cole Murray was 7 of 8 from 3-point range on Friday night with two key 3-pointers in overtime to help Northern Kentucky beat Illinois-Chicago 82-69.
Murray's first 3-pointer in the extra period made it 70-65 and his second pushed the lead to 75-68 with 1:23 left. The Norse (7-11, 3-4 Horizon) made 7 of 8 at the foul line from there.
Jalen Billups' tip-in put Northern Kentucky ahead for good on the first possession of overtime. Both teams went scoreless for nearly two minutes before Murray's 3s broke it open.
Murray hit one of his 3s with 3:44 left in regulation to make it 65-61, but UIC (2-16, 0-7) forced overtime with the last four points.
Lavone Holland II had 17 points and Billups added 12 for Norse.
Dikembe Dixson had 24 points and 10 rebounds, Najeal Young added 12 and 10 and Lance Whitaker scored 10 for the Flames.
