Chicago's COVID levels drop to 'low' for first time since May

City health officials said more than 75,000 Chicago residents have gotten the new bivalent COVID vaccine, which provides better protections against Omicron subvariants BA.4/BA.5 that currently make up more than 95% of COVID-19 cases in Chicago.

New COVID-19 vaccines available in Chicago starting this week

The city of Chicago is rolling out two updated vaccines for COVID-19, Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced Tuesday. Both are designed specifically to target the Omicron subvariants, and have received final approval from the CDC and emergency use authorization from the FDA.
