A last-minute stadium proposal passed the Illinois Senate but stalled in the House, leaving the Chicago Bears’ future stadium plans in Arlington Heights or Hammond, Indiana unresolved as the team continues evaluating both sites.

It's the last weekend for the Illinois legislative session and attention is on the megaprojects bill. It's legislation directly tied to the Chicago Bears and a potential move to Arlington Heights.

A new Cook County Treasurer’s Office study estimates the Chicago Bears could save more than $39 million a year in property taxes under the proposed megaprojects bill, while residents and officials debate what the long-term impact could mean for local taxpayers.
