A Hammond man has been arrested in connection with a smash-and-grab burglary last year at a high-end exotic car dealership in the Gold Coast neighborhood.

The broad-daylight Gold Coast murder of rapper FBG Duck in August 2020 involved four masked shooters who left 38 bullet casings behind following an attack that lasted all of 15 seconds, according to a newly unsealed federal court record.

The 32-year-old man got into an argument with an “unknown offender” and that person pulled out a gun and opened fire.

Joe Perillo, the owner of a high-end exotic car dealership in Gold Coast, was allegedly called an idiot by Mayor Lightfoot after they met to talk about Chicago crime, according to a report. Just days later, his business was cited with six violations.

Another Gold Coast store was targeted by thieves.

The FBI is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly robbed a PNC Bank in Chicago on Monday.

"I love my neighborhood and I don't want to move, but it's frightening."

Another week, another round of robberies at high-end stores in the Gold Coast.

A drive-by bar shooting occurred near Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood early Sunday, according to police. 

Chicago police issued an alert Tuesday after three smash-and-grab burglaries were reported at clothing stores along the Magnificent Mile and on the Near North Side earlier this month.

LAKE SHORE FATAL CRASH: A female driver in a red Sedan struck a Toyota SUV from the rear, which caused the Toyota to flip onto its side, ejecting a 46-year-old man, who was a passenger in the ride-share vehicle.

In one incident, a 72-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman were sitting in a parked vehicle when they were forced out by a man with a gun. They were told to lay on the ground face down, and the male victim's wallet was taken.

The city of Chicago has cited five businesses for failing to enforce the city's COVID-19 indoor mask mandate.

Federal agents found 80 kilos of cocaine in a vehicle in River North, plus another 20 kilos of coke in a hotel room in the Gold Coast. The drugs had allegedly arrived on a private plane that went from Toluca, Mexico to Houston to the Gary-Chicago International Airport.

Thieves crashed a car into Dior overnight, stealing several items from the luxury store in the Gold Coast neighborhood.

In each incident, groups of up to seven males ran into businesses, grabbed purses on display tables, and ran from the stores.
