Behind the scenes at Russell Military Museum

The Russell Military Museum in Zion began as a private collection in the '70s and has since expanded to fill a 10,000-square-foot space with artifacts dating back to WWI. The museum also displays 500 vehicles from trucks to tanks.

Pug Pal Project inspires north suburban first-graders

First-grade teacher Sharon Latek started the Pug Pal Project a year ago at Wescott Elementary School and it has since expanded to include 250 pugs worldwide. Students work on their communication skills by writing letters to pugs around the world.
