'The Phone Lady' helps Gen-Z overcome fear of talking on the phone
Mary Jane Copps has dubbed herself "the phone lady" — meaning she helps people, many in Gen Z, to overcome the anxiety that can come with talking on the phone. She says phone-phobia impacts younger generations because devices like the Blackberry allowed people to "talk with their thumbs" in the late 90s. Since then many people have removed their house phones and rely on cellphones with texting features.
