Chicago's plans for new South Side migrant shelter scrapped

The City of Chicago was considering a site on Canal Street in Canaryville as a possible temporary emergency shelter for new arrivals. The owner of the site was not contacted by the city, and officials are no longer considering the location, according to 11th Ward Ald. Nicole Lee.
