Monarch butterfly population declining, won't receive protections anytime soon

The benefits of the monarch butterfly are vital to Chicago’s ecosystem, and yet they are dying. This week, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department announced the monarch won't be receiving protections as an endangered species anytime soon.
